Lapidary museum is a collection of 93 stone monuments from ancient times to the early and late Middle Ages, one of the most important of its kind in Croatia. The collection includes architectural elements (thresholds, fanlights, transenna, logos, etc.) and, for the most part, elements of liturgical furniture (altar panels, parts ciborium, pilasters, capitals, etc.). The most important part of the stone medieval Novigrad is a collection in which the well preserved Mauritius ciborium from the end of August.century, one of the rare examples of early Carolingian art in the area. Due to the alarming state of precious monuments, the collection in 1994. was removed from the former exhibition space (ground floor of the palace Rigo). Under the expert supervision of the monuments are cared for and undergo a thorough sanitization and preservation. In 2004.started work on the building in which the city museum will be a collection of the stone Novigrad. The museum has a permanent exhibition, which is open year round. Exhibitions that are organized in the museum, as well as various lectures and presentations, aimed to attract as many visitors of different ages and education.During the summer months, the exhibition is organized in the gallery that Rigo is its rich and high quality exhibition program gained a high reputation.
